Welcome to the website for the Establishment of the Institute of Studies in Federalism and Decentralisation in Hungary project. This project is implemented within the framework of Twinning and Partnership Block Grant.
Our main aim: to present the Swiss federal state system, and raising and dissemination of the Hungarian adaptation opportunities for our target groups and the public.

In Angela Merkel's opinion, it is required, that the EU should become a federation within three years. The German Chancellor in the European Parliament said that the euro zone members should surrender several aspects of their sovereignty for saving the common currency. Within three years she would put the national budget, tax policy and labor law under the supervision of Brussels.

Jeam-Marie Woehrling the Council of Europe (CoE), an expert on the situation of minorities in France gave a presentation at the Pécs Learning Centre. The seminar was held in collaboration with the French Institute, the University of Pécs, Faculty of Law and the Institute for Federalism and Decentralization of the Centre for European Research.

The project implementing institutions organise a workshop in 21 June 2012. The theme of this forum will be the Swiss-Hungarian twinning relations and the inter-municipal cooperation, the questions of agglomerations. There will be examples besides the scientific presentations.

The delegation of Hungarian researchers were on a study trip in Switzerland in March 2012. The delegation visited both Geneva Municipality and canton, the University of Geneva, the University of Fribourg, The Annemasse Agglo(maration) Association (France) and the Corpataux-Magnedens village in Canton Fribourg. The project partners organised a joint meeting in 24th January 2012 in Pécs. They discussed some parts of their project. For example: project timing, the opportunities of future partnership and so on.

The HAS Centre for Regional Studies as a result the reorganisation of Hungarian Academy of Sciences expired on 31st December 2011. The new structure will be named HAS Research Centre for Economic and Regional Studies, Institute of Regional Studies. This change does not affect the implementation of the ISFD project.
